In an attempt to have full transparency with my readers I want to publish the exact stocks that I have bought and sold this year. Before you look at the numbers I want to make sure you understand the risks involved with trading individual stocks. You can and should read my disclosure at the bottom of this page.
My Rules For Trading Stocks
Like most of you, I work full time and have no time to sit behind a computer monitor to buy and sell stocks. Because of this, I have developed rules for myself to follow. These are my rules and only mine. There are a hundred different strategies but through trial and a ton of error, I have developed my own.
Here are my rules:
- Every stock must be charted first! No impulse buys.
- A set trend must be found and an entry price established.
- Any buys must be done via a stop-entry or when a breakout is obvious.
- Position size and max risk shall be 40%/1.5%, 30%/2%, 20%/2.5%
- When a buy is initiated a trailing stop-sell shall be placed immediately.
- Don’t hold through earnings.
- Always work to fight FOMO.
